It all started with one special horse
In 2020, a yearling called Lexie came into our founder’s life, and wanting to give her the best possible start she began looking closely at what was available. What she found was equipment that had not been designed for life in a stable, systems with low output, and prices that were difficult to justify, so we built our own.

The systems we sell today have been through several generations since — new diodes, a new battery, and a redesigned fit.
Because when it comes to our horses, ‘good enough’ never really feels good enough.

Every LED by CHEVAL system is built in our own workshop in Uddevalla, on the Swedish west coast, and our head office is in Stenungsund.
Because we assemble the systems ourselves we are also able to service them ourselves, so anything that needs repair goes back to the people who built it rather than to a third party working from a diagram. That is what allows us to offer a four-year warranty worldwide and to be comfortable doing so, and it is why where the systems are made has a direct bearing on how they are looked after afterwards.

Recovery should not begin when something goes wrong
Most people buy their first piece of recovery equipment in the week after something has gone wrong, which seems to us the wrong order, since recovery and preventative care sit more usefully in the ordinary rhythm of a week alongside feeding, turnout and work than they do as a response to a problem.
It is the same thinking behind a session of five to ten minutes rather than something longer, since a routine short enough to fit before or after work is one that actually continues.

We would rather tell you the limits
LED treatment for horses has a genuine research base, although it is an incomplete one, and several of the strongest studies in the field have used lasers rather than LEDs.
We say so rather than leaving you to find out later, which is also why we do not quote a study count and do not present research carried out on one device as though it were research on ours. Where we have measured something ourselves, we publish the conditions alongside the result, and although that is a slower way of earning trust it is the only one that stands up when someone asks a second question.
Rent before you commit
You should not have to take our word for it
Renting is neither a payment plan nor a discount; it exists because the only evidence that really counts is what happens with your own horse, in your own stable.
There is no deposit, no minimum period and no binding commitment, and up to three months of rent is credited towards the purchase price if you decide to keep the system, on the same terms throughout the EU. If it turns out not to suit you that is a perfectly fair answer, and we would rather it cost you a month’s rent than the price of a system.

Everything we build is grounded in published research and in time spent around horses, and explaining how it works is part of the job rather than something separate from it.

We are horse owners ourselves, so the systems exist because of a horse and every decision about them is made by people who will be using them that same evening.

The warranty runs to four years worldwide on identical terms and every repair is carried out in-house, because a system still working in ten years is worth more to us than one sold quickly.
